I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
